The Lincoln Park Zoo is located in a beautiful park setting near Chicago's lakefront. In Creatures of Habitat, see more than 200 creatures living in a $12-million greenhouse with rain forests, savannahs and deserts recreated under a 45-foot high glass dome. The Great Ape House is a terrific place to watch the antics of gorillas, orangutans and chimpanzees. Big cats including lions, leopards, cheetahs and tigers live in a habitat similar to their native environment. The children's zoo gives visitors a chance to animals up-close and to learn more about wildlife at the Conservation Station.
BEST deal in town for kids and families. Great animals, great facilities, plenty of parking IF YOU BECOME A ZOO MEMBER, and overall one of my favorite places in the summer to go to with our daughter.
It's free what's not to love? This is really a treasure of the City and we love it. Favorites - the Polar Bears, Animal Farm, carousel. Pack a lunch there's plenty of seating for it.
We are really lucky to have access to such a great zoo for free. We have paid to go to zoos in other towns and they are not even as nice as Lincoln Park Zoo. It is such a nice place to go in the summer. We usually pack a picnic lunch and eat it by the water. There are nearby paddle boats as well which is always a big hit.
My four year old son loves this zoo. It's just the right size for him. We come here often enough he knows where all the animals are. His favorite spot is the monkey house.
