Great fun for parents and kids, we spend hours here! Also love the ease of the indoor parking during cold winter months!
visited the museum and had the most wonderful time...one of the main attractions for my son everytime we visit the museum is (groan) 'the great train story'...as a youngster (lol, he is only 8), he really loved thomas the train, so the first time he saw this exhibit he was smitten, hooked line and sinker. well, he has outgrown thomas, but he still looks forward to this exhbit everytime we visit; it is a miniature scale of train travels thru downtown chicago to seattle, replete with scale models of chicago architecture along with many interesting, and interactive, stops in between. we boarded a retired aircraft with all sorts of neat interactive activities. we explored the 'science storms' exhibit and got to participate in some cool chemistry experiments with jordan, who did a really good job engaging the younger children during the experiments, as well is conducting the tesla presentation. we watched chicks hatching and saw genetically modified frogs in the 'genetics and baby chick hatchery'. we were acting "doctors" to an ailing istan and got to see prenatal developemtn and more in the 'you' exhibit...and lastly, my favorite exhibit, ever since i myself was a young girl visiting the museum, the 'colleen moore fairy castle'. we actually spent 4+ hours in the museum this particular visit and had the best time i can ever remember having; we were able to be part of so many experiments and presentations; many of which i had no idea even existed and the presenters were soooo nice...that day spent at the museum, made a big impression on my son and especially me as a parent...can't wait to go back!!!
