Ideal for children of all ages. Witness a butterfly's first flight. Search for stick bugs camouflaged on a twig. Sssssay hello to a rattlesnake. Squish through wetlands discovering why they are beautiful and important. Find simple ways to nurture nature every day. Jump, splash, and crawl all while learning more about nature's wonders. Exhibits and programs change with the seasons, so there's always something new to explore. A hassle-free, family-friendly museum.
We love this museum. The butterfly room is magical! The kids are always amazed by it.
I visited with my daughter who is 2, and we had the most fun in the butterfly room and in the play area. I thought she might be afraid of the butterflies, but she enjoyed being close enough to see them eating. We've taken a class here, and had the opportunity to take a nature walk around the outside of the museum, and that was fun. The only downside, at least for my daughter, is that she's afraid of the enormous taxidermied polar bear that we need to pass by near the entry. She always asks me before we go if we can not see the polar bear.
My daughter (who was 3 at the time) loved the butterfly room but was not that impressed with the rest of the museum. I think it more geared for a little older children.
