With 14 interactive exhibits and new activities daily, the Chicago Children's Museum is a special place of education, exploration, stimulation and delight for children and adults. Exhibits include: BIG Backyard, Skyline, Kids Town, My Museum, The Allstate Foundation Presents "Play It Safe," Dinosaur Expedition, WaterWays, Kovler Family Climbing Schooner, Inventing Lab,, Treehouse Trails, and Kraft Artabounds Studio and Gallery.

I highly recommend a visit here, especially during the winter time when outdoor activities with little ones are limited.
It is a nice museum, lots of exciting things for the kids. We have stayed downtown and walked to it which is nice. Drivng in, parking's expensive. It's a free museum for us b/c we have the expanded membership at Kohl's. The nice part is you can do some Children's Museum and see some of the rest of Navy Pier or something else downtown - make a day or two of it!
The museum itself is a lot of fun and has a couple hours worth of activities for kids 3-10 years old. But It's not really a destination spot--especially if you're coming in from the burbs. However, Navy Pier IS a great destination, and the Children's Museum make a nice addition to a a whole day spent enjoying the pier.
At $10 per person the children's museum does offer value for money and there was loads for my 2 year old to do. It was however, somewhat disappointing for my 7 year old who found the number of activities for her age pretty limited. It didn't help that half the exhibits were closed. Word of warning, if you go to the museum when there are school groups present you will find some of the exhibits closed to the public until later in the day and you still pay full price.
