The Bucktown Arts Fest originated in the early 1980s when four local artists organized an art fair to showcase their work. It was a community-driven event, with participants contributing to costs and neighbors helping with entertainment and organization. Today, the festival remains a free community event, with its proceeds dedicated to supporting arts education in local classrooms and at Holstein Park.
