Hyde Park Art Center is pleased to present “Resilient Images,” the second half of a two-part exhibition in collaboration with the Center Régional de la Photographie (CRP), opening on Jan. 7, 2018 at the Art Center and continuing through April 1, 2018. The exhibition presents new lens-based work by artists Justine Pluvinage and David Schalliol.

The exhibition “Resilient Images” is the result of two eight-week residencies during which the artists developed site-specific, research-based projects focused around engagement with new communities and investigation of current social and political conditions in Chicago and Douchy-les-Mines, France. With the notion of human resilience at the center of the exhibition, Schalliol and Pluvinage mine the ways in which people have coped with and adapted to a rapidly transforming reality, due to financial, political or social change.
