There a plenty of ways to celebrate the 4th of July in the Chicago area. In the city, Navy Pier offers fireworks on Saturday July 2. You can venture out to the nearby suburbs for more Fourth of July festivals, parades and fireworks! June 30 - July 4
Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest
Community Park, 262 E Palatine Road, Palatine
The Palatine Jaycees Hometown Festival includes live bands, food vendors, adult beverages (beer, wine and hard seltzers), carnival, business expo and craft fair, movie nights, Family Day, fireworks and many other family activities. June 30 - July 4
Arlington Heights Frontier Days
Recreation Park, 500 E. Miner Street, Arlington Heights
Frontier Days features a full carnival with rides, food and drink and live music. Family fun taking place over these 5 days includes face painting, rib eating, Animal Quest animals, a Pet Parade, Dave's Traveling World of Reptiles, Mad Science, a pie eating contest, Jesse White Tumblers, Pony Rides, Miss Jamie's Farm music, Trinity Irish Music and much more - see web site for the daily schedule! On July 4 at 10am, the parade steps off from Dunton & Oakton, travels South on Dunton to Miner, and then East to Recreation Park. July 3-4
Glencoe Independence Day Celebrations
Multiple Park District Locations, Glencoe
The Village and the Glencoe Park District present a celebration of our Nation and our community this Independence Day. Festivities take place over two days, beginning on Sunday with a Party in the Park from 5-10pm with games, inflatables, live music, food trucks and beer/wine sales. Fireworks take place at 9pm. On Monday, enjoy a Fun Run at 8am, Family Games from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m, and the Independence Day Parade that steps off at 1 p.m. downtown. All ages. See web site for locations and schedule. FREE.

Palos Heights Independence Day Celebration
Memorial Park, Route 83 and College Dr., Palos Heights
Featuring inflatables and games from 10am - 1pm, and evening entertainment beinning at 5pm that includes a DJ, live band, and fireworks at 9:15pm on July 3. The parade is at Noon on July 4 at Harlem Avenue. All ages. See web site for locations and schedule. FREE.

Evanston 4th of July Parade and Fireworks
At Evanston's Parks and Lakefront
The festivities begin with morning games from 9am - 11:30am at multiple parks, with the Fun Run at 12:45pm. The Parade begins at 2pm on Central Street and moves from Central Park Ave to Ryan Field at Ashland Ave. Evening festivities begin with the Palatine Concert Band from 7:30-9pm at Arrington Lakefront Lagoon at Dawes Park,and the fireworks take place at 9:30pm at the lakefront, set to music (tune in to 90.5FM! Oak Park 4th of July
Longfellow Park and Oak Park River Forest HS
Oak Park's annual Independence Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on July 4 from Longfellow Park at Ridgeland Avenue and Adams Street. The parade marches north on Ridgeland to Augusta Street, turning east to disperse near Whittier Elementary School at Harvey Avenue. The fireworks display will be held at dusk on July 4 in the football stadium of Oak Park and River Forest High School near East Avenue and Lake Street. All ages. FREE.

St. Charles 4th of July Celebration
Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Ave., St. Charles
The Feel Good Party Band will take the stage in the historic pavilion at 6pm until the start of the fireworks extravaganza at dark. When the sun goes down, the night sky lights up with an ooh- and aah-worthy festival of colors, lights and sounds. All ages. Fri 5-10pm, Sat-Sun Noon - 10pm. FREE.

Libertyfest 2022
Redmond Recreational Complex, 545 John Sreet, Bensenville
Libertyfest offers live entertainment, food, drinks, and a fireworks show. Musical entertainment begins with DJ M.B. Entertainment starts at 6:00pm followed by a live performance from Simply Elton at 7:30pm. Fireworks start at 9:30pm, launched from the Bensenville Public Works facility. All ages. 6-10pm. FREE.
