Kids and families have been waiting a long time to celebrate Fourth of July and see fireworks. This year, there are Fireworks and Festivities taking place all over the Chicagoland area! Navy Pier is foregoing the annual fireworks this weekend, but you can gather up your crew and head to some nearby spots for carnivals, festivals, fireworks and more.

July 1-5
Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest
Palatine Jaycees, 250 E Wood St., Palatine
The five day festival offers live bands, food vendors, carnival, business expo and craft fair, Family Day and many other family activities. Windy City Amusements has carnival rides and games for all ages to enjoy. Ride the roller coasters and try your luck to win a prize at one of the games on the midway. Independence Day Salute
Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Grant Park, 201 E. Randolph, Chicago
Gather your friends and family for this annual holiday spectacular featuring a medley of patriotic favorites, including the Armed Forces Salute, Florence Price's Dances in the Canebrakes, the 1812 Overture and (of course) the grand finale Stars and Stripes Forever. Wheeling Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate Independence Day around Wheeling with 3 days of family fun. Enjoy community, local entertainment, Family Fun and a Fireworks Extravaganza. Takes place around Rotary Hill July 2-3 and along the Riverwalk and downtown Naperville. Fireworks are July 4 at Frontier Park. Admission is free for Family Entertainment July 3 and Fireworks at Frontier Park July 4. St. Charles Riverfest and Fireworks

This year's three-day celebration offers live music, carnival, food & craft vendors, and fireworks over the river. Traditionally located in Frontier Park near Main Street, St. Charles, the festival is a favorite of locals and visitors for its charming historic atmosphere, and fabulous riverside view, offering a gorgeous, reflective flair to each year's spectacular firework show. Northbrook 4th of July Celebration

Fourth of July Celebrations start on Saturday, with Pop-Up Pickleball in downtown Northbrook from dawn - dusk, plus a Liberty Loop 5K Race at 7:30am, Liberty Lap Fun Run at 9am (register online by July 2); and from 3-5pm live music at Village Green Park. The City of Oakbrook Terrace will be holding a Fourth of July event this year that includes a buffet style picnic, a band and fireworks at Terrace View Park. Libertyfest offers live entertainment, food, drinks, and a fireworks show. Musical entertainment begins with DJ M.B.
