Travel Itinerary: Scarecrow Festival Family Fun

Description: Visit this free annual family festival held the second full weekend each October. View over 100 hand-crafted scarecrows on display in Lincoln Park (4th St. & Main St.)and vote for your favorite. Children's activities, craft show, music and more.

Day 1


Breakfast Location: Colonial Cafe - East or West
Breakfast Description: East: 1625 E. Main Street, 630/584-4647 West: 2036 W. Lincoln Hwy., 630/443-8339 A St. Charles Tradition for more than 30 years. Award winning breakfasts served all day long.

Morning Location: Scarecrow Display in Lincoln Park
Morning Description: Visit Lincoln Park, 4th Street & Main to view and vote for your favorite displays. Enjoy live music in the Main Stage tent. Shop in nearby Old St. Charles.

Lunch Location: The Filling Station
Lunch Description: 300 W. Main Street, 630/584-4414 A turn of the century Texaco gas station turned into a memorabilia-filled restaurant with great sandwiches on home made bread, appetizers and more.

Afternoon Location: More Scarecrow Fun
Afternoon Description: "Make Your Own Scarecrow" supplies provided free and you take it home. Carnival, climbing wall, face painting, music and many free activities.

Dinner Location: Family Night Out for Pizza
Dinner Description: Gino's East, 1590 E. Main St., 630/513-1311 Gina's Subs & Pizza, 2770 E. Main St., 630/377-3220 Armand's, 102 E. Main St., 630/587-6666

Evening Location: Enjoy the amenities at Pheasant Run
Evening Description: Young people will enjoy the 3 swimming pools and game room at Pheasant Run Resort. Mom and Dad could visit Bourbon Street for Swing Dancing on Friday nights or Zanies Comedy Club.

Hotel/Motel Location: Pheasant Run Resort
Hotel/Motel Description: 4051 E. Main St., 630/584-6300 A full service resort with dinner theatre, 18 hole golf, shops, restaurant, comedy club, spa and pools.


Day 2


Breakfast Location: Bakers Square
Breakfast Description:
1510 E. Main Street, 584-2737 Convenient to your hotel.

Morning Location: Festival Activities
Morning Description: Pottwatomie Park - 1/2 mi. N. of Rt. 64 at 2nd Ave. - Large juried craft show, Sports Ave., Mini Golf, & Family Fun Trail.

Lunch Location: El Puente
Lunch Description: 112 E. Main Street, 630/377-8884 Mexican cuisine.
