Looking for a fun and unique way to celebrate your child’s birthday? Come to Bit Space! Kids will be able to use real tools to build real things and will have a blast along the way. Whether it’s a “Shop Party” for up to 15 kids or an “Intro to Making Party” with 30+ kids, they will have an unforgettable experience.

In a Shop Party, our Guides will organize a small-scale project that a group of children can complete in under 3 hours. We offer a wide variety of experiences, from physical construction using traditional and modern tools, creative design and assembly with our laser cutters, and video game making. Design and build your own car or birdhouse in our woodshop; use the laser cutter to create a custom light box; or use a professional game development platform to make your own awesome video game.

If you have a larger group of 16-35 kids, we offer an Intro to Making Party in which the party goers will get to explore all parts of our maker lab. We’ll start out with some basic demonstrations by our Guides, and then guests will get a chance to try out a variety of tools and machines. Use saws, drills, and hammers in our woodshop; see how we use design software to make cool creations on the laser cutter; and check out our 3D printers in action.

Our Make-It-Take-It policy allows kids to take home whatever they make in our shop!

Bit Space has two locations for parties: Lincoln Square (2541 W Lawrence Ave) and Wilmette (1131 Greenleaf Ave). Parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays. We offer drop-off parties for children 6 and up, and parties for kids ages 4-5 with parental supervision. Shop Parties can accommodate 5-15 participants, and Intro to Making Parties can accommodate 16-35 kids.

About Bit Space: Bit Space is Chicagoland’s premier maker lab for kids and teens--a place where they can learn to use real tools to build real things. Students work with our guides to learn how to use hand tools, power tools, electronics, robotics, 3d printers, laser cutters, CNC milling machines, computer modeling and design software, computer game development software, virtual reality, and new media to design and build just about anything. We try to live up to our goal of inspiring and guiding the next generation of inventors, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers by teaching kids and teens to be producers rather than consumers of technology. Our guides are experts from the fields of architecture, design, engineering, and computer programming. In addition to birthday parties, Bit Space offers week-long Summer Camps, Day-Off Camps, After-School and Weekend Classes (Open Shop), and Field Trips.
