Halloween Games

If you're looking for some fun children's Halloween games, you've come to the right place. These games are perfect for your Halloween party of for classroom fun.

Guess How Many

Fill a jar with candy corn, counting the number of pieces as you go, and have the kids write down their guesses on a piece of paper with their names. The winner is the child whose guess is closest to the actual number of candy corns in the jar.

Memory Game

Put a dozen or so items relating to Halloween onto a tray. Suggestions: Candy corn, candy bar, apple, mini pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, Halloween sticker, etc. Show the tray to children and let them study it for up to 15 seconds. Then, take the tray away and have them write down as many of the items as they can remember. The child that remembers the most items is the winner.

Hot Pumpkin

This is a Halloween version of Hot Potato. Have children sit on the floor in a circle, and have them pass a mini pumpkin around while music is playing. Stop the music, and whoever is holding the mini pumpkin when the music stops is out of the game. Continue until one child is left as the winner.

Halloween Treasure Hunt

Hide Halloween items such as candy bars and mini pumpkins around the house or in your yard. Let the children go out for up to 15 minutes and see how many of the hidden items they can find. The child who finds the most items is the winner - although all kids are winners, since they can keep the items that they find.

Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin

Draw a large orange pumpkin on an oversized piece of poster board. Draw in the triangle eyes and a big open smile mouth. Then cut out several black triangle from construction paper, one for each participating child, to use as the noses. Draw a nose onto the poster board by tracing the cut out noses - this is the target. Hand out a nose to each child, and have them write their names on the nose in white chalk. Put a piece of 2 sided tape on the back of each nose as the child is about to take his turn. Then have the children take turns trying to place the nose on the pumpkin. The child who places a nose closest to the poster board target is the winner.

Pumpkin Toss

Have one small pumpkin for every 2 participants. Each pair stands the same distance apart and the first player tosses the pumpkin to the second person. Then each pair takes a step back from each other. The game continues with each pair tossing the pumpkin back and forth and stepping back after each toss. The pair that continues to catch the pumpkin at the farthest distance, wins.
