This dynamic live insect exhibit will show visitors the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly, the Illinois state insect.
- View four stages of butterfly development: eggs, caterpillars, pupas, and adult butterflies.
- Compare the live specimens with larger-than-lifesize models.
- On select days, children can harvest eggs from Habitat Park’s butterfly garden with trained Museum staff to bring into the exhibit.
- Explore how animals change and adapt through the metamorphosis process.
