About Chicago Kids

ChicagoKids.com launched in October 2001, and is a leading source of information for Chicago area parents looking for fun, kid-friendly activities, events and resources. Our mission is to promote family time for kids and parents in the Chicago area, providing them with a comprehensive, user-friendly resource of places to go and things to do.

Just this year, Chicago Kids was named one of Chicago's best web sites by Chicago Magazine. We're received lots of other press and recognition over the years, including coverage in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, WGN Radio, Radio Disney, WHERE Chicago Concierge Newsletter and many more. Hundreds of other web sites link to us as well - from majorly trafficked sites, to the personal web sites of other moms and babies!

Until recently I produced this site on the side of a full time job, while dreaming of being able to focus on it full-time. Now, with the birth of our daughter earlier this year, I am finally attempting to do so. Although, as all of you parents know, to work on anything "full time" while staying home with a baby is not entirely possible!

As a parent now, the site has taken on new meaning for me, and I look at the resources and information that I provide in a new light. I hope that my role as a parent will offer me a new perspective that will provide even more value for visitors to the site.
